Magnificent Musical Mr Mould

We are thoroughly enjoying having Mr Mould working with us in our learning space.  Mr Mould has been teaching us how to play the ukulele.  He has also taken the ukulele to our team singing sessions so we have been able to sing along while he plays.

Our Student Teacher

Tena kotou katoa,

My name is Tom Mould and I am a year 3 student at the College of Education.
This is my final year of study, and I am excited to spend the next five weeks in Room 1 at Banks Ave School.

I enjoy playing and creating music, having learnt the clarinet while I was at school and studying at CPIT Jazz School majoring on Tenor Sax.

My first professional placement was in a junior class, and I am excited to be back with this age group to further my skills.

Looking forward to seeing you all in Room 1!

Mighty Mini-beasts

We have started learning about mini-beasts.  Yesterday we used a thinking cloud to show what we know about mini-beasts.  Today we shared our ideas about what we 'wonder' and what we want to learn about mini-beasts.  The clever children in Room 1 had some fantastic ideas about what they want to learn - ask the children to share their wonderings with you.  These will be up on display in the classroom next week.
